Join us for a showing of the 2007 film "Chicago 10," by Brett Morgen, starring Hank Azaria, Mark Ruffalo, and others. The film is a documentary featuring voice acted court transcripts from the trial of the Chicago 7, Chicago 8, or Chicago 10, depending on how you count them. The film also features footage from the time of the 1968 Democratic National Convention, including footage of the protests and interviews with the organizers who were put on trial. In light of the upcoming 2024 DNC in Chicago this August, we think this is a timely and relevant film, and we hope you will agree!
Admission is free. Feel free to bring movie snacks, friends, a blanket to sit on the grass if you want to, or just bring yourself. Our office has chairs and we will have popcorn, candy, and drinks as refreshments.
Doors will open at 7, at which point you are welcome to come enjoy refreshments and participate in pre-showing discussion. The film will start as soon as it is dark enough for the projector to be well visible, likely around 8pm.
