Earlier this month, CTU members endured a week-long lockout in the fight for school safety. This was a difficult fight, and we wanted to show some love and solidarity.
33rd Working Families joined with our neighboring 35th and 39th Ward IPOs to pick up lunch for locked-out local school staff. Our volunteers distributed lunches, deliciously prepared by Dulce de Leche cafe on Lawrence Ave., across four locations in Albany Park, Avondale, and Logan Square.
We also included notes of support, handwritten and crayoned by a CPS student and mom.
All meals were fully covered through a last-minute social media appeal to our members and friends. Thank you to all who chipped in! 🍪
